Terms and Conditions
Effective from 1 October 2026
1. Introduction
- These Terms and Conditions apply to all work carried out by Boilers Done Right Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), a Gas Safe registered plumbing and heating company serving Sheffield, Doncaster and the surrounding areas. Registered in England and Wales, company number 17195379. Gas Safe registration number 980945.
- By accepting a quotation, booking a visit or allowing work to begin, you ("the customer") agree to these Terms. They apply to both domestic and commercial customers unless a clause states otherwise.
- Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
2. Services
- We provide boiler installations, boiler servicing and repairs, gas safety inspections and landlord gas safety certificates, general plumbing, and central heating installation, repair and upgrades.
- All work is carried out with reasonable care and skill, by suitably qualified engineers, in line with current Gas Safe requirements, Building Regulations, manufacturer instructions and relevant industry standards.
3. Quotations & Pricing
- Quotations are free of charge and valid for 30 days from the date of issue. After this, prices may be revised to reflect changes in material costs.
- Quotations are based on the information available at the time of survey. If the scope of work changes, or we find something that could not reasonably have been seen during the survey (for example hidden pipework, corroded fittings, or a flue or gas supply that does not meet current regulations), we will explain the issue and agree any additional cost with you before carrying it out.
- Unless stated otherwise, prices include labour, materials and VAT at the current rate. Call-out and hourly rates for repair work are as published on our current price list or confirmed when booking.
4. Payments & Deposits
- For boiler installations and larger projects, a deposit of 50% of the quoted price is payable to confirm your booking and cover the ordering of materials. Smaller jobs, repairs and services do not usually require a deposit.
- Final payment is due on completion of the work unless otherwise agreed in writing. Deposits and final payments can be made by bank transfer, debit or credit card, or card payment link. We do not accept cash payments to engineers unless agreed in advance.
- All materials, including boilers and components, remain the property of Boilers Done Right Ltd until the invoice has been paid in full.
- Domestic customers: if payment is not received within 14 days of the due date, we may charge interest on the overdue amount at 4% per year above the Bank of England base rate, together with reasonable costs of recovering the debt.
- Commercial customers: unless otherwise agreed, invoices are payable within 30 days. We reserve the right to claim interest and fixed compensation under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
- We may pause or cancel work where agreed payments have not been made. Manufacturer warranty registrations and Building Regulations compliance certificates may be withheld until full payment is received.
5. Your Right to Cancel (Domestic Customers)
- If you are a consumer and you agree to the work at your home or at a distance (by phone, email or online), you have the right to cancel within 14 days of accepting our quotation, without giving a reason, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
- To cancel, tell us clearly in writing by email to info@boilersdoneright.co.uk or by letter. You may use the cancellation form at the end of this document, but you do not have to.
- If you ask us to start work within the 14-day cancellation period and then cancel, you must pay for the work done up to the point you told us, plus the cost of any materials ordered specifically for your job that cannot be returned.
- Your right to cancel ends once the work has been fully completed, where you asked us to start within the cancellation period and acknowledged this.
- Emergency repairs you ask us to carry out urgently are not covered by the cancellation right for the urgent work itself.
6. Cancellations, Rescheduling & Delays
- After the 14-day cancellation period, if you wish to cancel or rearrange a booked appointment, please give us at least 48 hours notice. Late cancellations or missed appointments where we cannot gain access may be charged at our standard rate.
- Cancellation of an installation after materials have been ordered may be charged at the cost of those materials plus any restocking fees, less anything we can recover.
- If we need to reschedule due to illness, emergency work, material shortages or circumstances beyond our control, we will give as much notice as possible and agree a new date with you. We are not liable for losses caused by such delays.
7. Customer Responsibilities
- You agree to provide safe and clear access to the work area, gas meter, boiler, flue route and any other areas we need, together with water and electricity.
- Please tell us of any known hazards, including asbestos, structural issues, or previous alterations to the gas or heating system.
- You are responsible for moving or protecting valuables, fragile items, carpets and furnishings in the work area, and for keeping children and pets away while work is in progress. We will take reasonable care to protect your property with dust sheets and floor protection.
- You are responsible for obtaining any landlord, leaseholder, freeholder or planning consent required, unless we have agreed in writing to arrange it.
8. Gas Safety
- As Gas Safe registered engineers, we are legally required to follow the Gas Industry Unsafe Situations Procedure. If we find an appliance or installation that is "Immediately Dangerous" or "At Risk", we will explain the issue, label it and, where required, make it safe or disconnect it, even if this is not the work you booked us for.
- We cannot reconnect or leave in use any appliance that has been classified as unsafe. Any charges for making safe will be explained to you.
- Where required, we will notify new boiler and heating installations to Building Control through the Gas Safe Register and register the manufacturer warranty on your behalf. Your compliance certificate will be sent directly to you by Gas Safe.
9. Guarantees & Workmanship
- All our labour carries a 24-month workmanship guarantee from the date of completion, covering defects caused by poor workmanship.
- Boilers and parts are covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Most boiler warranties require an annual service by a Gas Safe registered engineer and may be invalidated if this is not carried out. It is your responsibility to arrange annual servicing.
- Guarantees do not cover damage caused by misuse, neglect, accidental damage, frozen pipes, poor water quality, work by third parties, or normal wear and tear.
- If you notice a problem after completion, please contact us promptly and give us the opportunity to inspect and put it right before instructing anyone else.
10. Liability
- We hold public liability insurance of £2,000,000.
- We are not responsible for existing faults or defects in your system, pipework or property, or for problems caused by the condition of existing components we have not replaced (for example old radiators, valves or pipework that fail when a system is drained, flushed or pressurised). We will point out any concerns we see before starting work where reasonably possible.
- We are not liable for minor making good such as decorating, tiling or plaster repair unless included in your quotation.
- Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
11. Waste
- Unless stated otherwise, we will remove and responsibly dispose of old boilers, cylinders, radiators and packaging from work we carry out, in line with our waste carrier obligations.
12. Complaints
- If you are unhappy with any aspect of our work, please contact us at info@boilersdoneright.co.uk on 01302 613810 or 07982 817452. We will acknowledge your complaint within 3 working days and aim to resolve it within 14 days.
- If we cannot resolve your complaint, you may refer gas safety matters to the Gas Safe Register or seek advice from Citizens Advice.
13. Privacy & Data
- We collect and use your personal data (such as name, address, phone number, email and property details) only to quote for and deliver our services, meet our legal obligations and keep appropriate records, including gas safety records.
- We may share your details with Gas Safe Register, Building Control and appliance manufacturers where needed for certification and warranty registration. We will not share your data with anyone else for marketing without your permission. We handle your data in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
14. Governing Law
- These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales.
- If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest will remain in full effect.
